Forestoke Linhay

Forestoke Linhay is a detached barn conversion on a working farm on the edge of Holne, on the south-eastern slopes of Dartmoor. Despite having two bedrooms, a mezzanine twin room with its own washbasin and en-suite WC, and a first-floor king-size double, the property is let for 2 guests only, and children under 12 are not accepted. A separate bathroom has a bath, hand shower, WC and washbasin.

The living area is small and cosy, warmed by a wood burning stove, with exposed stone walls, wooden beams and vaulted ceilings throughout. A rustic, unheated conservatory adjoins the lounge, with doors onto an enclosed, terraced patio garden, and doors from the twin bedroom open onto a further small patio. The king-size bedroom has extensive views towards Torquay and Teignmouth, taking in Hembury and Holne Woods.

The kitchen has a gas cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine, and the sitting area has a TV with DVD player. Central heating and the wood burning stove keep the cottage warm, with a supplement added to bookings starting between 16 September and 27 May. There is no WiFi at the property, though the village shop a quarter of a mile away has a connection.

Outside, the gravelled and paved terraced patio areas have furniture and a barbecue. Off-road parking is provided for two cars. Forestoke Linhay does not accept pets, and smoking is not permitted, with bed linen and towels included in the rent.
