Devon's Traphouse Cottage

This thatched cottage near Winkleigh in North Devon sleeps four across two bedrooms, reached via steep cottage-style stairs, so may not suit those with mobility restrictions. There is one double and one twin room, served by a single bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

The open-plan lounge and dining area is centred on a wood burner set in a stone fireplace, with logs available to buy locally. A sofa, chair and smart TV with DVD player complete the sitting space, alongside a dining table and chairs. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, separate small freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer, plus a Bosch Tassimo coffee machine. A second smart TV is provided in the double bedroom.

Outside, a patio garden is enclosed and reached from the kitchen up a few steps, offering a private spot to sit out. Because the roof is thatched, barbecues and candles are not permitted anywhere on the property. Low door frames and the steep stairs mean care is needed with children and infants, though a travel cot is available on request.

Pubs and shops are within walking distance, and internet access is provided. Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges applying. Arrival is from 15:30 and departure before 10:00.
