Anvil Cottage

Anvil Cottage sits in Bradiford, a village on the edge of Barnstaple, and dates back around 200 years. The lounge retains original beams alongside a wood burner (with a first basket of logs included), a sofa and a Smart TV with Netflix, making it a settled spot for evenings in.

At the rear, an open-plan kitchen and diner opens through patio doors to the garden. The kitchen has a range-style electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine and microwave, so self-catering is straightforward for the duration of a stay.

Upstairs on the first floor are two bedrooms, one with a super-king bed and one with a super-king zip-and-link bed that can be split into twins on request. A steep staircase leads to a third bedroom on the top floor with twin beds. The single family bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC. The cottage sleeps four.

Outside, a south-facing tiered garden is enclosed and fitted with patio furniture and a charcoal barbecue, with an outside tap also on hand. A traditional pub is around 150 yards away and a shop within a mile. Parking is on the road directly outside, subject to availability rather than guaranteed. Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges possibly applying, and a travel cot, highchair and stairgates can be requested ahead of arrival.
