Part of a 17th-century thatched longhouse in West Putford, near Bideford, this single-bedroom annexe has been modernised throughout and sits within landscaped grounds. The owners live on site and are available if needed, giving the stay a degree of quiet reassurance without intruding on privacy. Two dogs are welcome, with an additional charge that may apply.

Ground-floor living centres on a lounge and dining room with beamed ceilings, a sofa and recliner, an electric stove and a dining table. The galley kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and dishwasher. The bathroom, also on the ground floor, has both a bath and a shower. A spiral staircase leads to the open-plan super-king bedroom, where French doors open onto a private balcony with patio seating. The bedroom can be made up as two singles on request at the time of booking.

Outside, two patio areas sit within the enclosed garden. The first has a smart table and chairs; the second, reached through French doors from the lounge, holds a hot tub, BBQ and further seating. Beach equipment is available for guests, including bodyboards, folding chairs and a windbreak, and a shed provides bicycle storage. A washing machine and tumble dryer can be arranged on request.

Parking is private and on site, with CCTV covering that area for security. The property is not suitable for young children or infants, making it best suited to adults or older children. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure before 10:00.
