Stockman's Rest

Stockman's Rest sits on a smallholding near Petrockstow, close to Great Torrington in North Devon. Guests enter directly into a kitchen/diner fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, and a fridge with an ice compartment, alongside a dining table for two.

Upstairs, the double bedroom has plenty of storage and a TV and DVD player that can be watched from the bed, with a selection of DVDs provided. The en-suite shower room includes a shower and WC. The cottage is arranged for two guests, with the bed in the bedroom accessed from one side only.

Outside, an enclosed garden to the front has a patio with seating, a lawn, and a barbecue. Beyond the garden, the smallholding extends to 34 acres with ponies and ducks, and guests may walk their dogs in a dedicated 10-acre field on the property, though this field is not fully enclosed. Dogs must be kept on leads outside the enclosed garden because of the resident ducks; two dogs are permitted and additional charges may apply.

Off-road parking is provided on site, and the cottage is reached via a country lane. Internet access is available, though the rural setting means the connection can be slower or less reliable at times. A pub and shop are around three miles away. Arrival is from 14:30 and departure is before 10:00.
