Starlings

Starlings is a converted barn near the market town of Tiverton, set up for two guests and within reach of Exmoor, Dartmoor and the Blackdown Hills National Landscape, all under 21 miles away. The wood-clad exterior opens into a light-filled interior where exposed beams and flagstone flooring meet a modern, open-plan living space combining kitchen, dining and lounge areas.

The ground floor holds the kitchen and living area alongside a separate WC, while the king-size bedroom upstairs has its own en-suite shower room and a skylight overhead. The kitchen comes equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, and a Smart TV in the living space suits quieter evenings in.

Outside, a private patio with outdoor furniture provides space to eat or sit in the fresh air, and off-road parking is available for one car. A highchair can be provided on request, useful if a young child is joining the stay, though the property itself is arranged for two adults. Wimbleball Lake, 19 miles away, is well suited to kayaking, paddleboarding or sailing, while Tiverton itself has a medieval castle, a canal and a range of shops, pubs and cafes. Knightshayes Court and Castle Drogo, both managed by the National Trust, lie within 23 miles, and Exeter, with its cathedral and busy high street, is 16 miles away.

One dog is welcome at Starlings, with additional charges possibly applying. The nearest pub or restaurant is 3.5 miles away and the nearest shop around 7 miles, so it's worth planning any first-night shopping in advance; the nearest beach is 29 miles off. Check-in runs from 4pm and check-out is before 10am.
