Portmore Grange

Portmore Grange is a ten-bedroom manor house set in 1.5 acres overlooking Portmore golf course, close to Barnstaple. The house sleeps 24 across three floors, with rooms ranging from doubles and twins to king-size and super king-size beds, several with en-suite shower or bath and WC. A family bathroom and a separate downstairs WC serve the remaining bedrooms.

Ground-floor living space is generous, with a lounge featuring an open fire (a first basket of logs is included) alongside a drawing room, a small library, and a conservatory. The dining room seats up to 24, and the kitchen is fitted with a range cooker, AGA, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and coffee maker, backed up by a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and a second dishwasher.

Entertainment runs to a games room with pool table, bar, wall-mounted smart TV, Xbox 360 and Bluetooth surround sound, plus a separate cinema room with a 65-inch 4K HD TV, Blu-ray player and surround sound. Outside, the gardens include lawns, garden furniture, a BBQ hut with seating, a private 9-person hot tub, 16 mountain bikes for guest use, outdoor play equipment, and separate areas for a trampoline and table tennis.

An annexe sleeping 6, extendable to 7 with an additional downstairs bedroom created on request, is available at extra cost and is only let alongside the main house booking, giving the whole party exclusive use of the estate. It has 2 doubles, a twin and a single, with a bathroom, shower room and extra WC, plus its own kitchen/diner and living room. Off-road parking is ample, though there is no electric vehicle charging point. Up to 3 dogs are welcome, with additional charges applying, and travel cots and highchairs are available on request.
