Orchard Lodge at Southcott

Orchard Lodge at Southcott is a single-level, three-bedroom lodge accommodating up to eight guests near Halwill, in Devon's Ruby Country. Private parking for five cars is on site, and up to three dogs are welcome, though cats are not permitted.

The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area is the social centre of the lodge, with bi-fold doors drawing in natural light and a Smart TV and comfortable seating for the whole group. The dining table doubles as a games table, converting for pool, table tennis or table football. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, double-drawer air fryer, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washing machine. Each of the three bedrooms also has its own Smart TV, and a travel cot and highchair are available on request.

Sleeping arrangements give flexibility: the double bedroom has its own en-suite shower room with WC, the family room fits four with a double bed and bunkbeds, and the twin can be made up as a king-size. A separate family bathroom with shower over bath and WC serves the remaining bedrooms. Outside, a patio runs the length of the property with outdoor dining furniture and a BBQ, plus a dedicated patio area housing a private hot tub. The garden has a generous lawn but is not enclosed, with natural edging rather than fencing.

Holsworthy is around six miles away for everyday supplies, and the nearest pub and shop are about 2.5 miles from the lodge. Okehampton to the south-east provides access to Dartmoor, while Bude's beaches are roughly 15 miles to the west.
