Lynhurst

This large house sits in the heart of Lynton, with gardens and woodland around it and sea views from most rooms. It sleeps up to 20 guests across nine bedrooms, making it suited to large family gatherings or group celebrations rather than couples or small parties.

The lower ground floor holds a dining room with a table large enough for the whole group, alongside a farmhouse-style kitchen fitted with an electric Aga, two double electric ovens, a separate hob, microwave, two large fridges, a freezer and two dishwashers. A separate utility room off the outside has a washing machine and tumble dryer. The ground floor retains original features including a tiled entrance hall, two lounges (one with a multi-fuel wood burner and TV, the other with an open fire, TV and a baby grand piano), both opening onto a balcony with sea and woodland views. A games room next door has a 7-foot slate bed pool table and a dartboard.

Bedrooms are spread across three floors. One double with en suite shower room is on the ground floor; five more bedrooms are on the first floor, including a four-poster king room, two further doubles and two rooms that can be made up as king or twin, four of them en suite and one with a shower and washbasin. The second floor has a king-size en suite, a twin room and a large family en suite with a king bed and two singles.

Outside, an enclosed garden includes a built-in barbecue, a terraced area with garden furniture and a table tennis table, plus further seating areas with sea views. Parking is available in a public car park roughly 100m from the house, reached along a sloping private path. Up to four dogs are welcome for an additional charge, and the property does not accept stag parties. A travel cot and highchair are provided, and the house is decorated for Christmas during the festive season.
