Little Merryfield

Little Merryfield sits in the North Devon village of Guineaford, near Barnstaple, and sleeps two guests in a single upstairs bedroom furnished with a king-size bed. A pull-out single bed in the same room and a double sofa bed downstairs can accommodate an additional child, but the booked capacity remains two.

Inside, the kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, induction hob, slimline dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine and microwave, and the living room has a wood burner and a 55-inch Smart TV with Bluetooth speaker. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and WC, with a second WC located downstairs; there is no separate second bathroom. Internet access is available throughout.

Outside, an enclosed private garden runs down to a stream at the bottom, with two decked seating areas, outdoor furniture including a double egg chair, and a charcoal firepit and BBQ. The standout feature is a wood-fired hot tub on the decking; use is included for the first three days of a stay, after which hosts charge £60 to cover cleaning, refilling and additional wood. A welcome log box with kindling, logs, matches and firelighters is provided, though guests planning heavy use of the hot tub or wood burner should bring extra well-seasoned logs.

Private parking for two cars is available on the cottage's own drive, and one dog is welcome, with additional charges applying. The property is considered suitable for small or medium-sized dogs. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am.
