Goodleigh House

Goodleigh House is a traditional Devon longhouse on the outskirts of Winkleigh, sleeping ten across five bedrooms. Wooden beams and doors give the property genuine period character, and the layout suits large family groups and gatherings of friends. All five bedrooms are on the first floor: two super-king zip-and-link rooms, convertible to twins on request, and three doubles, each generously sized with good storage. The ground-floor bathroom has a bath, separate shower and WC, and is also reachable from the first floor via an internal stair; a second bathroom on the first floor has a freestanding bath and WC.

The ground floor is arranged across several distinct rooms. A main lounge has comfortable seating, a wood burner and a Smart TV, with French doors opening onto the patio and garden. A separate dining room provides a second wood burner for evening meals, and an initial basket of logs is supplied for both fires. The kitchen features an island, induction hob, electric double oven, Quooker tap, Sage Barista Express coffee machine, wine cooler, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave, with bifold doors opening from the breakfast bar to the garden. A dedicated games room houses a pool table and dartboard, while table tennis, Jenga and boules are available for use on the lawn.

Outside, the enclosed garden has a large patio with seating and a private hot tub. Six cars can park off-road, and an on-site electric vehicle charger is available. A travel cot and highchair can be arranged on request, and two dogs are welcome, though not permitted upstairs. CCTV covers the entrance gate to the driveway and the garden area, though the garden camera is switched off during guest stays; a Ring doorbell operates at the back door overlooking the rear courtyard.

A pub and shop sit within half a mile of the property, making it straightforward to pick up supplies or eat out without a long drive. Dartmoor National Park lies around ten miles away and the North Devon coast is reachable for a day trip, giving a group of ten plenty to plan beyond the house itself.
