Batson House

Batson House rests over three floors overlooking Batson Creek, a walk along the banks into Salcombe. A flight of stone steps leads up to the garden and entrance from the parking area, worth noting if anyone in your group is unsteady on steps.

The sitting room has an L-shaped sofa and a wood-burning stove, next to a kitchen/diner with integrated appliances and seating for 8. An oak staircase leads to three first-floor bedrooms: a master with an en-suite shower, a double with its own TV, and a bunk room for children. A further staircase reaches three second-floor bedrooms, including a second king-size room with an en-suite shower, a twin room and another child-only bunk room, served by a shower room and a family bathroom.

The house sleeps 10, though for comfort it's limited to a maximum of 8 adults, with the two bunk rooms reserved for children aged 12 and under. Oil-fired central heating covers the house, with fuel and power included in the rent, and four TVs with Freeview or Freesat, plus WiFi, are provided. Two highchairs are available, and children must be supervised in the garden at all times.

Outside, a small lawned area at the front seats 12 around a table, and a large, enclosed sloping back garden has a patio, table, chairs and a barbecue. Off-road parking for up to 4 cars sits opposite the house, across a narrow lane. No pets are permitted, stag and hen parties are not accepted, and the house is strictly no smoking.
