Cockle Cottage

This cottage sits on one of the older residential streets in Appledore, a North Devon village long associated with boatbuilding and fishing. The house is arranged over two floors, with wooden flooring and coastal-themed decor giving it a settled, lived-in character rather than a hotel-style finish.

On the ground floor a galley kitchen at the rear is fitted with an induction hob, electric oven, fridge with separate freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave, and benefits from two skylights that keep it bright. A dining table sits at the front of the house, and there's a sofa with a TV/DVD player for evenings in. The bathroom, also on the ground floor, has a P-shaped bath with a shower over and a WC.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms: a double and a single, the latter suited to a child. The cottage sleeps three in total (two plus one), with a travel cot and highchair available for younger visitors. Outside, a small enclosed courtyard garden is reached via several steep steps from the house, so it's worth bearing in mind if buggies or mobility are a consideration.

Wi-Fi is included, along with electric and central heating. Public car parking is available nearby rather than on site, and pubs, shops and the beach are within walking distance. Two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply. Arrival is from 5pm and departure is before 10am.
